Description
Benlake is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond and has a tile roof. The building is two storeys high and features two two-storey bowed windows on the facade. Between these windows on the first floor is a sashed window with glazing bars. Each bow has a brick base and three curved sashes with glazing bars on each storey, which are separated by fluted pilaster strips. Inside, there are double-hung sashed shutters. The central doorway is framed by a timber doorcase with engaged Greek Doric columns, and above each abacus is a fillet with guttae. The open pediment above the doorway contains a fanlight. Gable chimneys are present on the roof.
