Southlands, formerly known as Ellerslie School, is an early to mid-19th century building on Wells Road. It is two storeys high and has a rendered exterior with a slate roof. Two coped gables project at each end of the building, each featuring a single window. The first floor has four windows, each with rectangular dripmoulds and hung sash windows with glazing bars, the upper portions of the windows arched. The ground floor mirrors this layout with two similar windows, and two canted bays featuring matching glazing. A modern door is situated in an extension to the right side of the building.
