Description

No. 2 Brown Square is a stuccoed house built around 1830-1840, which was reconstructed on an earlier brick core. It features a three-storey design with a low-pitch slate roof at the eaves. The façade has three windows that are divided by large pilasters with simple moulded caps. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, and one smaller window on the right side suggests that the building was refaced from an earlier design. The house has a projecting porch with a flat top, supported by slim octagonal columns and half-column responds. Flanking the door are fielded panels, and above it is a wide segmental-headed fanlight with radiating bars.
