Description

No 1 Old Street is a mid to later 17th century brick house that was stuccoed in the 19th century. It has two storeys and an attic, featuring a plain tile roof that is hipped at the west end. The building has two windows facing Old Street and one gabled dormer above, while there is a four-window range on the Court Street side. The 19th-century basements have top lights, and there are hood moulds above the windows. The ground floor includes a 19th-century shopfront with a bracketed fascia and a corner entrance. There are two hood moulded ground floor windows on Court Street, one of which has glazing bars. The central entrance is a panelled door. This building was formerly known as the Cross Keys Public House.
