Description
The Rotunda, located in The Shrubbery at Croome Park, is a garden temple built around 1760, possibly designed by Robert Adam. This circular building is constructed from Bath stone and features an entablature and a shallow dome. It has six windows, each framed with moulded architraves and topped with triangular pediments on consoles. The windows are glazed bar sash style, and above each window is a sunk oblong panel adorned with festoon carving. Inside, the Rotunda boasts exquisite rococo plasterwork on the walls and window surrounds, an entablature above, and a coffered ceiling in the dome.
