Description

Bartleet House, dated 1838, is a former hospital that has been converted for commercial use. The building is three storeys high and features a simple symmetrical facade made of red brick with sash windows set in plain reveals. The lowest storey is rusticated, and the cornice and stepped blocking course are made of stucco. There are projecting wings at each end of the building, each two windows wide. The slightly projecting central portion is three windows wide and has a pediment. The entrance is simple, supported by heavy console brackets. The roof is low pitched and covered with Welsh slates.
