Description

Lydiate Ash House is an early 18th-century building, originally known as Lydiate House, situated on the Halesown Road in Lydiate Ash. It is a two-storey structure with five window bays. The house is constructed of red brick with contrasting dark brick headers. The windows are sash windows set within wide, moulded cased frames, featuring elliptical-headed brick reveals ornamented with stone keyblocks. Stone quoins are present, and brick string bands are positioned above the window heads on both floors. Two of the windows are later insertions, likely from the early 19th century, replacing original openings which were subsequently blackened up. The front door is a fielded panel door, with the lower panels exhibiting a square design divided into four triangles. The eaves are plain and boxed, and the front section of the roof has been renewed with brindle tiles.
