Description
The walls, railings, and gates located to the south and east of the Church of St Mary in Bilston date from around 1827 and 1866. The structure includes a wall extending approximately 39 meters and a low wall with railings extending about 21.5 meters to the east. To the south, there is a low wall and railings with two gates and a drinking fountain that extends approximately 47 meters. The materials used are ashlar for the walls, with cast-iron railings and wrought-iron gates. The south side features paired wrought-iron gates with scrolled panels and cast-iron gatepiers at each end. The drinking fountain, erected in 1866, is located toward the east end and includes a projecting basin and a round-headed niche with an inscription in memory of Joseph Percival. There is also a short return to the west. This structure is included for its group value.
