Description

A toll house on the Walsall Canal, likely dating to the 1840s. The building is constructed of brick with fishscale tiles. It is a single-story structure. A canted projection with a hipped roof is located on the right side of the building, featuring three windows with glazing bars and pointed heads. A modern window with a segmental head is situated on the left of the main facade. In the angle between the main facade and the canted projection is a porch with a chamfered brick doorway. The main roof is half-hipped at each end. Chimneys are present on the left and along the main ridge, in line with the canted projection. The toll house adjoins Top Lock, Walsall Locks.
