Description
The eighth lock from the south, also known as the top lock of the Walsall Locks, is located on the Walsall Junction Canal. It was built in 1841 to connect the Walsall Canal with the Birchills Branch of the Wyreley Canal. The lock is constructed of brick and features some sandstone kerbstones in the lock chamber. It has single gates and cast iron sluice gear. This lock is part of a series of eight locks.
