Description

No 158 on High Street is a building dating from the 16th century, constructed with a timber frame and red brick nogging. It has been partly refaced in the 18th century with red brick. The building features an old tiled roof with an oversailing gable on the left side. It is two storeys high with attics, and has sash windows with glazing bars. On the right side, there is a canted oriel bay window, while the central section has a canted bay with a half-glazed door, flanked by Ionic pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice. No 158, along with Nos 2 to 6 (even) The Square, forms a group.
