Description

Walsh Hall is a building with a 15th-century core, significantly enlarged during the 16th century, and with later modern additions. The main block retains a 16-foot bay of the original 15th-century hall, complete with its original roof truss. The exterior is timber-framed with an ashlar base, the framing infilled with whitewashed plaster. It features red brick chimneystacks with diagonally set shafts and offsets. The building is two storeys high with attics, displaying three gable ends, and a first-floor overhang supported by cut console brackets. Windows are lattice casement type. A modern wing, built of red brick, complements the original structure. Inside, there is a newel staircase with turned balusters, stone fireplaces with carved surrounds, and a carved door in the porch decorated with mask roundels and foliage.
