Description
Hampton Manor is a house dating from 1855, with additions made around 1870-1873 designed by the architect W E Nesfield. The house is constructed of stone and built in a Tudor Gothic style. It is two storeys high and features large windows with mullions and transoms, along with battlements and two-storey bay windows. A date of 1855 is inscribed on an external wall. The house was formerly the home of Sir Frederick Peel MP, a younger son of Prime Minister Sir Robert Peel. The interior includes a fine arcaded entrance hall, a staircase, panelling, and encaustic tiled floors. Attached to the lower service courtyard is a clock tower, which is listed separately.
