Description
Kirby House, located at No 16 Little Park Street, is a red brick house dating from around 1700. The ground floor is stuccoed, and the building features a hipped old tiled roof that is set behind a parapet, topped with a stone dentilled cornice. It stands three storeys tall and has five flush windows with broad frames, each under flat arches that include keyblocks. The central window has an architrave surround adorned with foliated volutes.
The façade is enhanced by four tall Composite pilasters that are topped with oval paterae featuring a shell pattern. The central doorway is notable for its fanlight and is framed by attached Ionic columns, which support a segmental dentilled pediment. Additionally, there are early 19th-century forecourt railings that complement the house.
