Description

Smithy Cottage is a 17th-century house that has been divided into two dwellings. It is constructed of red brick with stone dressings and has a machine tiled roof with sprocket eaves. The house has a stone plinth and a brick band at the first-floor level. The front elevation features three casement windows set within chamfered, flush stone surrounds. There are flush stone quoins and a central door surround. A single-storey, lean-to addition was added to the right side of the building in the late 19th century. A central chimney stack rises above the roof, featuring three shafts set diagonally.
