Description
Stivichall Animal Pound is a former animal pound dating from the 19th century, with origins in the 17th century, and was restored in the 20th century. It is built from coursed squared stone and red brick, featuring brick and stone coping. The structure is a rectangular enclosure with walls approximately 1.5 meters high on two sides, while the remaining sides are only a few courses high. The southern wall is primarily constructed of large stone blocks, likely from the 17th century. Inside, the floor consists of stone flags, and there is a gate socket stone at the former entrance. The pound was mentioned in historical records from 1663 and is included for its group value.
