Description
Nos 9 and 10 Priory Row are a mid-18th century building of red brick, arranged over three storeys with a five-window front, plus two windows incorporating keyblocks and lintels, all within moulded frames lacking glazing bars. A recessed door is topped by an arched fanlight and a moulded wooden canopy supported by modillion brackets. The door is framed by a simple wooden doorcase featuring an open pediment on the right-hand side, with plain pilasters to the sides. A dentil-detailed wooden eaves line finishes the elevation. The building forms a group with Nos 7 to 11, the front gate, and the railings to No 11. Interior: The building has probably late 17th century brick vaulted cellars which reflect the plan of the earlier buildings on this site.
