Description

This is a pair of late 19th-century houses located on Bristol Road in Edgbaston, Birmingham. They are symmetrically arranged and situated near a small park. The houses are constructed of brick with a tile roof. Each house is two stories high and has an L-shaped plan, with a half-hipped roof facing the road and a gabled roof facing the park. Timber framing is present on the park-facing gables. An entrance is within a tiled lean-to, positioned at the angle of the houses. The ground floor windows are narrow casements, either single or in groups of three, set beneath stone lintels. These windows have glazing bars only in the upper portions. The first floor features a large, half-hipped three-light window and a two-light gabled window towards the rear, both of which project through the eaves into the roof. Brick stringcourses run along the facades, and above a corner window is displayed the Arms of the City of Birmingham.
