Description
Babbs Mill is a 18th century mill house named after John Babb, a miller who died in 1651. The building includes an adjoining mill keeper's cottage on the left. Both structures are two storeys high and have two bays, with the mill house being taller and slightly set forward from the keeper's cottage. The exterior is made of brick, which is partly painted, and features a tiled roof.
The mill house has been altered and now includes ground and first floor casement windows with segment heads. The keeper's cottage also has casement windows on both floors, with the ground floor windows having segmental heads. The mill house has a slightly off-centre door, while the cottage features a slatted door on the right side. The mill itself is timber framed and has a dentilled eaves cornice along with an attic storey. There is an outbuilding located to the left of the cottage.
