Description

Ivy Cottage and The Cottage are a pair of cottages, likely originating in the 17th century but appearing late 18th century in style. They are located on Arden Road, Yardley. The cottages are timber-framed with brick facing and have a tile roof. Each cottage is two storeys high and has three bays. The ground floor features a mix of square casement windows, broad tripartite casement windows, and studded doors with strap hinges. All windows have segmental heads. The first floor has three square casement windows and one broad tripartite casement window. A brick dentil frieze runs along the top. To the left and right of the pair are single-storey additions, each with a single casement window and a secondary door. No. 91 contains four late 18th century fireplaces and an early 19th century iron hand pump in the front garden, made by J.H. Powell of Lower Trinity Street, Birmingham.
