Description

Number 20 is a pair of fine houses dating from circa 1675. They are constructed of red brick with stone dressings, topped by a machine tiled roof with a heavily moulded stone cornice. The houses are two storeys high with attics, featuring a moulded string course, end pilasters with entablatures, and three dormers with wooden pediments. Four sash windows, some retaining original glazing bars, are set within architrave surrounds with keystones. The front door has a fanlight, both within an eared architrave surround and keystone. Early 18th century wrought iron front railings are also present. Number 20’s railings, along with numbers 14 to 24 (even), form a group of special architectural or historic interest.
