Description

Nos 16 and 18 High Street is a mid-19th century house that was altered around 1900. It is constructed of red brick and features a roof parapet and a modillioned cornice. The building has three storeys, with floor bands and three sash windows. The central first floor has an ashlar surround with pilasters and a scrolled broken pediment. Flanking the center is a two-storey bay that contains stone mullioned and transomed windows on each floor. The entrance features a central two-panelled door with a fanlight above. This building is included for its group value with Nos 14 to 24 (even) and the railings of No 20.
