Description
Nos 5, 5A, and 7 on High Street are a building complex that has been refaced in the 19th century with stucco, although they originally date back to the early 17th century and are constructed of brick and stone. The building has a half H plan with a yard at the back that is enclosed on three sides. The front is designed in a Tudor style and features a tiled roof that is hidden behind a parapet, along with a central Dutch gable adorned with four ball finials. The structure has two storeys and includes modern shop fronts. On the first floor, there are three oriel windows that flank two pargetted panels, and below these is a pargetted frieze decorated with leaf and grape motifs. Nos 3 to 9 (odd) and 5A are part of a group of buildings.
