Description
Nos. 58 to 61 Albion Street is a domestic terrace built around 1840 that has been altered for workshop use. The three-storey red brick buildings have facades that appear as two three-bay houses. They feature a stucco eaves band and projecting eaves beneath a low-pitched slate roof. The second-floor windows have revealed glazing bar sashes set under gauged flat arches. In the latter part of the 19th century and around 1900, two-storey canted wooden bays were added. The first-floor windows above the doorways are blind and have stucco heads flanked by consoles that support shallow cornices. The passage doorways have panelled reveals with panelled pilasters and entablatures topped with projecting cornices. This building is notable as a surviving domestic structure in the jewellery quarter and contributes to the streetscape alongside the adjoining terrace.
