Description
The Old Rectory, located on Church Road in Sheldon, is a building that primarily appears to be from the 18th century, although it was home to Thomas Brey from 1690 to 1729. The structure is timber-framed with rendered brick and has a tiled roof. It stands two storeys tall and features two gabled bays. The left bay, which contains the entrance, is narrower and lower than the right bay, which is slightly advanced. The entrance on the left consists of a panelled door with a flat head, supported by a cast iron fluted column, and there is a small casement window above it. The right bay has two sash windows with segmental heads, one above the other; the lower window on the front floor has four panes, while the upper window on the first floor has three panes. To the left of the main building, there is a long single-storeyed range of outbuildings.
