Description

This is an early 19th-century building, comprising numbers 5 and 7 Old Square. It is a three-storey, three-window stucco structure. The windows are sash windows with simple panels above the second-floor openings, set in plain reveals. The building features panelled pilasters to imitate quoins, a slender moulded cornice at the eaves, and a blocking course. Number 5 has a doorcase with attached Tuscan columns and an entablature, incorporating a six-panel door and a rectangular fanlight. Number 7 is set at a right angle to number 5 on the west side of the square and has a similar doorcase, but with pilasters instead of columns. Number 5 also has a pair of Neo-Georgian shop windows. The building is topped with an old tiled roof. Numbers 5 to 13 (odd) form a group.
