Description
No. 2 Old Square is a building that dates back to 1781 and features a combination of 18th century and early 19th century refronting of an earlier structure. The exterior is finished in stucco and topped with a hipped roof covered in old tiles. The building stands two storeys high with attics and includes four gabled casement dormers. There are six sash windows with glazing bars, each framed with architrave surrounds and a first-floor sill band. The design is enhanced by tall Corinthian pilasters at the ends, a frieze, a cornice, and a parapet.
There are two doorways; the one on the right features a two-panel door with a traceried fanlight set in an archivolt, surrounded by squat attached Corinthian columns beneath an entablature. The secondary doorway on the left has a three-panel door and is framed with stucco pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice.
