Description

The Old Rectory is a circa 1840 red brick house located on Ryton Road in Bubbenhall, with a smaller, late 19th-century addition to the east. The original portion of the house has a low-pitched slate roof with gabled ends and wide projecting eaves. A string band runs between the ground and first floors. The house is three storeys high and features a slightly projecting gabled bay on the west side. A projecting porch has a plaster pediment, cornice, and string band. The front door is a six-panel door with a semicircular fanlight containing radiating glazing bars. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, flat arches of rubbed brick, and cills. The later addition to the east is constructed of red brick with a pitched slate roof.
