Description

LAPWORTH PACKWOOD LANE SP17SE (West side) Packwood 1/46 Sundial approx. 10m W of Packwood House GV II Sundial. Dated 1667, with C20 restoration. Stone. Round stepped base; round column, part C20 replacement; painted stone square top with round ball finial. Erected by John Featherston, who probably planted the Yew Garden, traditionally said to represent the "Sermon on the Mount" (Buildings of England: Warwickshire: 1966, pp370-1; Packwood House National Trust Guide book, 1987) [ 15]
