Description
4, 5, and 6 Chapel Lane are three houses located in Stratford-upon-Avon. They date from the 17th century, with a refronting around 1800. The buildings are constructed of brick, with some internal timber framing, and feature a tiled roof with two brick stacks at the front ridge.
The houses are two storeys high and present a three-window range. A top modillioned brick cornice runs along the building. There are segmental-headed entrances, one at the left end and another to the right of center, with a straight-headed entrance to the right. All entrances have plank doors. The ground floor includes segmental-headed windows with small-paned casements; the center window has a cross-casement, the left window has a casement with two unequal lights, and the right end has a two-light casement with an iron opening casement. The first floor features windows with two-light small-paned casements, one of which has an iron opening casement. A straight joint is visible to the left of center, and the right return shows an exposed roof truss.
Inside No. 4, there are some exposed beams, timber framing, and a fireplace with a bressumer.
