Description

A farmhouse dating to around 1700, with later 20th-century additions to the rear. The farmhouse is constructed from limestone ashlar, with dressed stone returns and a stone slate roof, including a tile section to the rear, topped by ashlar stacks. The original plan comprises three units, with the addition of a 20th-century rear wing.

The exterior is two storeys high, with a symmetrical three-window front. It features a plat band above the ground floor and coped gables. The round-headed entrance has a fanlight with radial glazing bars above a six-panel door. The ground floor has a four-light mullioned-and-transomed window with recessed chamfers. The first floor has two similar windows flanking a two-light cross-mullioned window. Two gabled dormers are present with two-light casements. The rear has gabled two-storey wings framing a single-storey flat-roofed range, with a first-floor window featuring a cross-casement and an iron opening light, and a gabled dormer.

The interior features plain beams and a central winding staircase with moulded nosing. A room to the left has a blocked large open fireplace with an entablature above an inserted 19th-century fireplace. The room to the right contains a 19th-century marble fireplace and flanking cupboards. The attic has exposed collar trusses and a large firehood to the left end, with a smaller hood to the front, along with a two-fielded-panel door. A stone cellar contains a large beam, a flagged floor, and a drain.
