Description
Wychwood is a house located in Long Marston, dating from the 17th century with a 19th-century addition. The building is constructed of coursed blue lias rubble and features hipped roofs made of stone slate and renewed tiles, along with brick stacks at the ends and sides. The addition is made of painted brick and has a red tile roof, with a timber-frame gable. The house has a single-unit plan that originally included a separate wing, now connected by a single-storey 20th-century unit to form an L-shape.
On the exterior, the hipped end features a large gabled bay window with timber framing and decorative bargeboards above a three-light transomed window with small-paned glazing. The first floor has 20th-century casements. To the right, there is a connecting unit with a 20th-century entrance and a wing that has a weatherboarded left gable and segmental-headed windows with 19th-century casements. The interior has not been inspected.
