Description
The terrace garden walls located to the south-west of Sharpecliffe Hall were built in the late 19th century. They are made of coursed and dressed stone and feature three tiers of terraces, extending approximately 100 meters in front and supported by walls that are about 14 meters high. The wall closest to the house has deep pitched copings, while the other walls are flat. Each wall is interrupted in the center by a flight of steps that are solidly balustraded and topped with ball finials on the highest terrace, which also has steps at each end with ball finials on the piers. These walls create an impressive and romantic garden layout for Sharpecliffe Hall and are included for their group value.
