Description

The front boundary wall of the Big Mill, located on Mill Street in Leek, was built around 1860 by William Sugden. This boundary wall, made of well-coursed and squared stone, features ashlar copings. It is a substantial battered retaining wall that runs along the front of the mill. The wall includes pilasters and a plain cornice, and it is interrupted by two rusticated arched gateways, each flanked by side pilasters and topped with raised entablatures.
