Description

The British Legion Club, located at No. 6 High Street in Eccleshall, is a building dating from around 1884. Originally serving as a market hall, it features a prominent gabled facade designed to resemble timber framing, constructed from painted cement. The building stands two stories tall, with the upper level overhanging the pavement and supported by wooden brackets. Notable architectural elements include a four-light oriel window, intricately carved wooden barge-boards, and an apex adorned with a carved wooden eagle finial topped with an iron wind vane. The building is included for its group value within the context of the area.
