Description

Ivy House Farmhouse is a building that likely dates back to the early 16th century. Although it has been significantly altered in the past, it has now been well restored. The farmhouse features a timber frame with herring-bone brick infill and consists of one storey plus an attic. It has three modern wood casement windows, a restored doorway with a ledged door, and one dormer. The temporary roof is made of asbestos slates, which replaces the former thatch. Inside, the farmhouse showcases exposed ceiling beams, some timber-framing that includes raised crucks, and a well-restored central fireplace with a timber and brick chimney.
