Description
Oddfellows is a group of four shops and flats located on High Street in Stone, dating from the early 19th century. The building is constructed of brick with ashlar dressings and features a tile roof with brick end and cross-axial stacks, designed in a Georgian style. It stands three storeys high and has a four-window range, with sill bands on the first and second floors and a dentilled cornice at the top. The 20th-century shop fronts are situated on either side of a round-headed entry. The upper floor windows have rubbed brick flat arches, with 12-pane sashes on the first floor and 6-pane sashes on the second floor.
Inside No. 30, there are heavy chamfered beams. Two rear gabled wings flank Adie's Alley. The left wing, Oddfellows, features two 20th-century shop fronts and varied fenestration, including two first-floor windows with cambered arches and two windows with paired sashes; the second floor has varied casements, one with small panes and two with iron opening casements. The right wing has two entrances marked 28A and 28D, with varied fenestration that includes a 9-pane sash. A small outshut has a first-floor loading bay with glazed doors and a small crane inside.
