Description

The Old Vicarage is an 18th-century house that was formerly used as a vicarage. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a clay plain tile hipped roof with lead rolls at the hips and ridge, along with corbelled brick dentil eaves. There are brick stacks on the sides of the building. The house has a double depth plan with a central entrance and stair hall, and two short wings at the rear with a central recess. A garage has been added on the north side.

The exterior of the house is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window west front. This front features 12-pane sash windows with exposed boxes and flat brick arches, with the ground floor having a tripartite arrangement that includes 4-pane side lights. The central doorway has a renewed fielded four-panel door and a moulded doorcase with panelled reveals, a rectangular overlight with lattice glazing bars, and a canopy supported by shaped brackets. There is a brick platband below the first-floor windows. The symmetrical rear elevation also has two short wings with hipped roofs and a recess in between that contains a stair window. Most of the windows have been replaced, except for the 12-pane sash on the ground floor to the left. A small brick extension has filled part of the central recess. The interior has not been inspected.
