Description

Haughton Old Hall is an unusually well-preserved house from the mid-16th century that has been carefully restored. It is T-shaped in plan with an additional small wing on the north side, which may be a later addition but is built in the same style as the rest of the house. The structure features a timber frame on a stone base, a tiled roof, and brick stacks. It has two storeys and wood mullioned windows with leaded lights. The main entrance is characterized by a cambered head. Inside, most rooms have exposed ceiling beams, and there is a massive central stack with original fireplaces on each side, featuring moulded stone jambs and a wood lintel.
