Description

Dunston House is a house built in the late 18th century with some alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped slate roof, with a brick off-ridge stack and a lateral external stack.

On the north front, the house has three storeys and three bays, with glazing bar sash windows. The ground floor has a plate glass sash, while the first and second floors have windows with sill bands. The windows on the ground and first floors to the left are tripartite and have segmental heads. There is a lateral external stack on the right-hand bay, and a central door with a fanlight and a pedimented Tuscan surround. To the left, there is a low one-storey and attic extension, which has a central half-glazed door and an attic dormer with a hipped roof.

The east front also has three storeys and three windows, mainly with glazing bar sashes. The ground floor right and first floor left and right windows are tripartite with segmental heads. There is a 19th-century bay window on the ground floor left with plate glass sashes. The first and second floor windows have sill bands.

On the south (garden) front, there are three storeys and four windows, again with glazing bar sashes. The first floor left and left of centre, as well as the second floor left, right, and left of centre windows, are blind. There is a 20th-century casement window on the first floor right, and a 19th-century bay window with a hipped roof on the ground floor left. The first and second floor windows have sill bands, and there is a central door.
