Description

Ivy House is a house dating from the 18th or early 19th century, with alterations undertaken in the mid to late 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with a fishscale tile roof, overhanging eaves, integral brick end stacks, and a ridge stack. The house follows an L-shaped plan. It has two storeys and an attic, with three windows. Casement windows have replaced earlier windows with segmental heads. There are 19th-century bay windows with hipped roofs to the right and centre of the building, and gabled dormers with bargeboards to the attic. A single-storey, set-back extension is located to the left with one casement window.

The south-west elevation has two storeys and three bays. The bays to the left and right are gabled with bargeboards. A large bay window with a hipped roof and glazing bar sashes is located on the ground floor to the right. Glazing bar sashes are present on the first floor to the left and right, and a glazing bar casement is on the first floor centre. A central half-glazed door is protected by a gabled porch, and a lean-to roof extends to the left-hand corner of the house.
