Description

Avenue Bridge, also known as No. 10, is a bridge over the Shropshire Union Canal, constructed around 1830. It was designed by the engineer Thomas Telford. The bridge features rough faced ashlar stonework and has a single stilted round arch that is flanked by pilasters. The design includes a sweeping balustraded parapet supported on rounded corbels.
