Description
Frant Lodge, along with its attached walls, railings, and gate, is an early 19th-century structure located on Dudley Road in Himley. The lodge is built of ashlar stone and features cast-iron railings and gates. It is a single-storey building with an ashlar stack at the rear and consists of three bays. The outer bays have glazing bar sash windows with moulded and coved architraves, while the central bay contains a 20th-century glazed door that is recessed and framed by a pair of Ionic columns. To the right of the lodge, there are two short lengths of coped wall that end in square piers with oversailing caps, which support ornamental railings and three pairs of gates. The lodge may have been designed by William Atkinson, who also enlarged Himley Hall between 1824 and 1827.
