Description

The bridge adjacent to the lodge of Stretton Hall is an ornamental structure built in the mid-19th century. It features blue brick construction with stone and terracotta decoration. The bridge has single blue brick round arches set between steep banks, and it includes horizontal parapets that are edged by square piers. Openwork terracotta Italianate balustrading is situated between the piers. The design of the bridge is reminiscent of the Italian garden associated with Stretton Hall and is part of the extensive alterations made in the mid-19th century. This bridge is grouped with the lodge and the gates and gate piers.
