Description

The Monckton Memorial is a chest tomb located approximately 10 metres south of the chancel of the Church of St. John. It commemorates General Henry Monckton, who died in 1854. The tomb is made of stone and features a paved surround with a kerb. It has pilastered angles, incised panels, and a top, and was formerly railed on one side.
