Description
Lapley Court is a farmhouse, now a house, with a core dating from the 16th century and later elevations from the 17th century and beyond. The building is timber framed with painted and rendered brickwork, featuring tiled roofs in three sections and four side stacks. The rectangular plan was originally L-shaped, with a cruck hall house and a 16th-century parlour cross wing. The front has two storeys and three gables, with the left gable being an early 20th-century addition. The right-hand gable showcases decorative 17th-century framing, including a projecting first floor supported by corbel brackets, lozenge pattern side panels, and carved cruciform timbering at the apex. There is a blocked 17th-century mullioned window in the attic, while 20th-century casements are present elsewhere, along with a front door located on the side elevation. The first and rear elevations display timber framing on the first floor. Inside, there is a range of three cruck bays along the spine of the building.
