Description
The Entrance Gate Lodges, located to the south of Park House, date from around 1860. They are a pair of matching lodges constructed from red brick with stone dressings and feature a flat roof that is concealed behind a crenellated parapet. Each lodge has a simple square plan and a single storey, with buttresses designed to support the gates.
On the south side, there are stone mullioned two-light windows with Tudor arches, which retain their original lead cames. The north side features stone-headed Tudor arched openings adorned with wrought iron mock portcullises. A string course runs below the crenellations, with blank stone shields positioned above. The wrought iron gates display a flowing pattern, and a hatch at the base indicates that the lodges may have previously served as a hen house.
