Description
The former school, located immediately north of the Church of St. Thomas, was built in 1843 and is now disused. It features dressed freestone with ashlar quoins and dressings, topped with a slate roof, and is designed in the Gothic style. The building consists of two parallel ranges aligned east-west and facing north, with a single storey and a three-window front. The windows include lancet lights arranged in a rhythm of 3:1:3, with sunken spandrels. There is a central gabled porch that has a pointed door on the left side and a blocked pointed doorway on the right side, which has an inserted window. Each gable end has two lancet windows. This school is part of an interesting group of buildings that also includes the Church of St. Thomas and the Vicarage.
