Description

Parson's Well is a well head dated 1858, constructed from coursed sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings. It is set into a retaining wall alongside the road and features a raised lip with a pointed arch made from two pieces of stone. The springer beneath the left-hand lintel is inscribed with "The Parson's Well/A.D. 1858". Above this, there is another stone in the upper walling inscribed with "Keep thyself pure".
