8/41 Bridge No. 77 (Tow - Path Bridge)

Roving bridge. Circa 1789, heavily rebuilt in the mid-C19. Single segmental arch with stone coped parapet and end pilaster strips. Bridge No. 77 unites the tow paths of the Minworth to Fazeley branch and the Fradley to Fazeley branch of the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal. John Pinkerton was the contractor for both branches, the former was opened in 1788 and the latter in 1789. The bridge is included for group value. S.R.
