Description

Bridge Number 77 is a roving bridge built around 1789, although it was heavily rebuilt in the mid-19th century. It features a single segmental arch with a stone-coped parapet and end pilaster strips. This bridge connects the tow paths of the Minworth to Fazeley branch and the Fradley to Fazeley branch of the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal. John Pinkerton was the contractor for both branches, with the former opening in 1788 and the latter in 1789. The bridge is noted for its group value.
